Maybe someday you and I
Should get into a car
and go to California
just because it's far.
This place is getting old now,
as are our hearts and minds.
And we need to get away from here
and see what else we find.
Our horizons are bright
so we're leaving this town
and going to the western shoreline
where our hearts are surely bound.
Carefree around a campfire,
you and your guitar,
All troubles back on the east coast,
away from where we are.
And on our way to freedom,
we can finally see the world.
And discover what can happen,
just free will, a boy, and a girl.
We wont stop until we get there,
'cause thats where we're meant to be.
In the blowing wind, where love always wins,
Just you, California, and me.
